Students of Service (SOS)
Students of Service (SOS) is a club committed to following Jesus’ example of giving to others by serving our community. This completely voluntary group at Our Lady of Angels School is focused on following the Catholic tradition of service. Each trimester, students focus on a different school service program relevant to the need of our local community. The majority of students at Our Lady of Angels participate in Students of Service opportunities each trimester.
Sacraments
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation begins in first grade. Parents are expected to actively participate in preparing and encouraging their children to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Reconciliation is offered to all children in grades 2 – 8 during the seasons of Advent and Lent.
First Eucharist
Preparation for the Sacrament of First Eucharist begins in the first grade. Any child who desires to receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist may participate in the sacramental program. This catechesis involves classroom instruction, special prayer celebrations, and parent meetings. The involvement of parents/guardians in this program is essential. The children receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist as a class in the spring.
Students who are in grades 3-8 and who have not yet received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist can receive proper preparation to complete these Sacraments. Please contact the Principal if you are interested.
Sacrament of Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is offered to Eighth Grade students who desire to be confirmed and enroll in the parish program of spiritual preparation. Preparation for the sacrament includes classroom instruction, parent/guardian meetings, special prayer celebrations, retreats, and completion of volunteer service hours. A separate fee covers the cost of student retreats and a sacramental fee.

The hours can be completed in any of our church activities and ministries here at Our Lady of Angels Parish. See the Students of Service Program for more detailed information regarding service opportunities. Students must enter their service on SchoolSpeak by the dates established by the teacher. Youth Ministry
Our Lady of Angels Youth and Young Adult Ministry gives young people an opportunity to be involved in the life of the Our Lady of Angels Parish community. Our ministry seeks to provide a safe, positive and healthy environment where our number one goal is to build family.
All Our Lady of Angels Youth parishioners from grades 6th -12th are encouraged to participate in our weekly meetings and fellowship.
All are invited to our youth group meetings on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 3pm in the youth center. Here we come together to search for our place in this world and see how our gifts play a role in our everyday lives. Drop in and join the fun and excitement as we explore how our gifts play a role in our everyday lives. Learn more about yourself and your world.
